Munich-based roller coaster manufacturer Maurer Rides is extending its Spike family with two new products: Spike Train and Spike Tandem. Both bring the interactive, software-defined Spike ride feel to the hourly capacity that large parks expect from a headline attraction.

The steel structure of the new SPIKE® roller coaster at the HI SPACE indoor park in Chongqing has been successfully completed. This marks a key milestone in the construction of the world’s first interactive indoor roller coaster. The ride is based on Maurer Rides’ SPIKE® technology, allowing guests to individually control speed, acceleration, and braking throughout the entire course. This creates a highly personalized experience in which no two rides are the same. With the completion of the steelwork, the project now enters the next phase of installation and system integration.

Maurer Rides introduces the Spike® Jetski Coaster – an innovative attraction that combines the dynamic feel of jet skiing with advanced coaster engineering. The track layout features tight turns, rapid direction changes, and interactive elements that allow riders to control acceleration and boost individually. With speeds of up to 60 km/h and longitudinal acceleration of up to 1.2 g, the ride delivers an intense yet precisely engineered racing experience. Its compact footprint and versatile theming options make it an ideal solution for parks seeking a high-energy, water-inspired attraction.

On December 31, 2025, Six Flags Qiddiya City officially opened its gates, featuring our new roller coaster, the Sea Stallion. The Sea Stallion showcases the innovation and technical expertise of Maurer Rides and adds a unique highlight to the new park’s attractions. BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster, the world’s first roller coaster at sea, has once again been voted Best Ship Feature of the Year 2025 by Carnival Cruise Line guests. This marks the fifth consecutive year the attraction has received this top recognition.
